Here is a little taste of the future…live today.
This is the new payment app, Znap, from MPayMe. The video was from their launch at the QR Bar at Chester Races on 17 August 2013.
And Then ZNAP Disappeared
ZNAP, a mobile payment app launched in 2013 by MPayMe, aimed to provide a comprehensive solution for mobile payments, loyalty programs, and marketing. The app was designed to allow users to make payments via QR codes and integrate various services into a single platform. However, ZNAP’s journey was short-lived as it faced significant challenges in gaining traction in the competitive mobile payment market.
In 2014, ZNAP was acquired by the Hong Kong-based company Powa Technologies, which sought to integrate ZNAP’s capabilities into its offerings. Powa Technologies aimed to create a unified platform combining ZNAP’s payment and loyalty features with its mobile commerce solutions. Despite these efforts, Powa Technologies struggled financially and eventually went into administration in 2016.
The collapse of Powa Technologies marked the end of ZNAP as a standalone product. The competitive landscape of mobile payments and the rapid evolution of technology made it difficult for ZNAP to establish a significant market presence. As a result, the app was discontinued, and its technology was absorbed into other platforms or left unused following Powa Technologies’ downfall.
