Someone was disappointed when I talked to them at an event recently, they were unhappy that I didn’t know what they had been up to and about their other activity. I didn’t know anything about it. This is a 21st century issue; if you post it on Facebook it doesn’t mean I’ve seen it.
Posting on social media is a bit like opening a door then shouting your message into the room before closing the door and moving on. Some of the people in the room will have heard your message, and some of them may have even understood it. A lot of people didn’t hear the message at all despite being in the room. A significant number of people weren’t even in the room.
Facebook, and other social media, feels easy. In isolation it’s not a great communication tool.
