Lateral thinking

Hebden Bridge

Hebden Bridge for the second city for the UK

You know how it is, when you get a new car you suddenly spot dozens of identical ones. I have a feeling the same thing happens with thoughts and the media. Currently, I’m being assaulted by interesting ideas that seem to all have lateral thinking in common.

Over breakfast today (yes, my life has changed so much that I have breakfast!) I spotted a lovely essay masquerading as news. It was on the BBC News site and the suggestion was that our country is imbalanced and that most things are weighted too much towards London. Nothing new there, but the solution was suggested as Hebden Bridge becoming the second city for the UK. Absolutely excellent…lateral thinking wins again.

Daft? Possibly. But I quite like the argument. See what you think: bbc.co.uk/news/business-26472423
